The highly anticipated Oklahoma expansion for American Truck Simulator is set to release on August 1st, according to developer SCS Software. Since its initial release in 2016, American Truck Simulator has captivated players with its immersive digital depiction of the United States. With the addition of Oklahoma, the game will now allow players to explore a total of 13 states, including California, Nevada, Arizona, and more.
SCS Software promises that the Oklahoma expansion will introduce players to “wonderful state parks, several natural marvels, and historical places full of mysteries and legends.” In conjunction with the release, a new community event called World of Trucks will task players with collectively accumulating 111 million miles traveled while delivering cargo to or from any of the 10 cities featured in the expansion. To participate, players must complete jobs of at least 100 miles.
Players who successfully deliver cargo to or from all of Oklahoma’s cities before the event concludes on October 1st will be rewarded with the exclusive Wild Stampede truck paint job. Additionally, all participants will receive the hanging Black Swallowtail ornament if the community goal is reached by the same deadline.
The Oklahoma expansion follows the recent release of American Truck Simulator’s free 1.48 update, which enhanced the Texas expansion map by introducing new landmarks, depots, and over 500 miles of additional road. The update also included two new routes for the Special Transport DLC, improvements to vehicle transport trailers, and various quality of life enhancements.
American Truck Simulator’s Oklahoma DLC is expected to be priced at £9.99/$11.99 USD upon its release on Steam. SCS Software has already confirmed that the game will continue its journey with a paid expansion to Kansas in the future.
