Gamescom 2023, set to take place later this month, is gearing up to be the ultimate showcase of new and upcoming video games across all platforms. While the main event is sure to be filled with lights, sounds, and massive crowds, it’s often the smaller aftershow gatherings where the real work gets done…

As always, this year’s event in Cologne, Germany is divided into two distinct portions, each requiring its own application and entry ticket:

• Devcom: Sunday August 20 to Tuesday August 2022.
• Gamescom: Wednesday August 23 to Sunday August 27

Regardless of which show you’ll be attending (and especially if you’re attending both), our party guide is here to keep you updated on the latest opportunities to meet like-minded gamers and enjoy the generosity and goodwill of some of the biggest players in the industry.

Of course, we have to kick off our list with our very own event. The Metaverse Mixer, presented by Steel Media, the creators of PocketGamer.biz, PocketGamer.com, BeyondGames.biz, BlockchainGamer.biz, and numerous other important media brands, is your one-stop-shop to network with some of the finest individuals in the gaming industry. You’ll also have the chance to listen to (or maybe even participate in) carefully selected panel discussions and informal talks.

And while the title does feature the word “Metaverse” (which pairs quite nicely with “Mixer”), there will still be plenty of opportunities for attendees to discuss game development, publishing, live ops, AR, VR, ad tech, and more with their peers, colleagues, and potential new connections.

Courage Cologne has evolved from a Dutch games showcase into a regular “pop-up” event at major gaming conferences. If you attended Courage XL at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco earlier this year (or even if you didn’t), you’ll definitely want to secure tickets for this year’s Courage Cologne at Gamescom.
