Pokémon Presents Returns Next Week With 35 Minutes Of News

The Pokémon Company has exciting news for fans! A Pokémon Presents presentation is scheduled for next week on Tuesday, August 8. Set your alarms because it will kick off at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET and last approximately 35 minutes. The announcement was made through a captivating teaser clip shared on the official Pokémon Twitter account. Check it out:

Although the teaser doesn’t give away much, there are some intriguing visual elements. The use of purple-pink and neon lighting raises speculation about possible references to iconic Pokémon like Mewtwo or Mew, or even to Ryme City from Pokémon Detective Pikachu, known for its vibrant neon aesthetics. It could also be a nod to the futuristic Opelucid City from Pokémon Black, with its neon-infused atmosphere.

So, what can we expect from this upcoming Pokémon Presents? It’s highly likely that we’ll receive updates on The Pokémon Company’s current spinoff games, such as the recently launched Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon Unite. Additionally, we might get information on the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, titled “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero,” which will be released in two waves: “The Teal Mask” in fall and “The Indigo Disk” in winter.

Of course, there’s always the tantalizing possibility of Pokémon remakes. Following the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in 2021, it’s fitting that the spotlight might shift to the beloved Gen 5 games, Pokémon Black and White, for the next round of remakes. Considering that previous remake releases occurred around late 2023, it’s an exciting prospect to look forward to. We might even catch a glimpse of a follow-up to last year’s Pokémon Legends: Arceus!

You won’t have to wait long to satisfy your Pokémon cravings, as Pokémon Presents returns on August 8. But in the meantime, be sure to read Game Informer’s in-depth review of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
