Activision Teases Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reveal

Activision has dropped a lighthearted tease for an upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare-related reveal next week. This hint suggests that the next installment in the Call of Duty series will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, despite the previous release in 2022 being titled Modern Warfare II. Leakages from various sources, including special Monster energy drink packaging, have already supported this theory.

The official Call of Duty Twitter account has posted a message that reads, “We’ll share our artistic abilities and even more next week,” accompanied by humorous key art that playfully mocks the leaked information surrounding Modern Warfare III. The timing of this tease lines up with a recent blog post on Modern Warfare II Season 5, which revealed that the new Call of Duty title would be announced in-game through a special event.

The blog post states, “Drop into Call of Duty: Warzone to experience the worldwide reveal for Call of Duty 2023 in a limited-time event. Join the ranks of Shadow Company to take on Konni forces and secure the chemical weapon threat before it’s too late. Stay tuned to Call of Duty channels for more information about the upcoming reveal.” While the specifics of when and how the reveal will happen next week are not yet known, it is definitely on the horizon.

It is interesting to note that this announcement contradicts previous reports from early last year that Call of Duty would be skipping a release in 2023.
