After six years, the highly anticipated concluding expansion of Destiny 2, known as The Final Shape, is set to launch early next year. Bungie has announced that they will be sharing the first details of the expansion in a livestream next week, unveiling the mysteries surrounding the game’s innards.
The livestream is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 22nd, at 4pm BST/8am PT, and can be watched on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok. It will kick off with a one-hour pre-show, followed by the main show an hour later. During the livestream, Bungie will reveal information about The Final Shape expansion, Destiny 2’s Season 22, the next reprised raid, and more.
To enhance the post-show experience, Bungie will also host a live roundtable developer discussion, where they will delve into what players can expect to see in the coming year for Destiny 2. Twitch viewers will have the opportunity to receive an exclusive emblem by watching for at least 30 minutes between the start of the showcase and the end of the post-show.
The Final Shape, which serves as a sequel to the well-received The Witch Queen expansion in 2022 and this year’s Lightfall, will mark the conclusion of Destiny’s Light and Darkness Saga. Although its release is still a few months away, expected to arrive in February of next year, Destiny 2 players will have plenty to do in the meantime, starting with the launch of Season 22.
The arrival of Season 22 coincides with the livestream on August 22nd, and while specific details are yet to be revealed, Bungie has already provided some initial information about the upcoming season.
