Sega’s licensed loot shooter Hyenas resurfaces with closed beta

Hyenas Announces Closed Beta Test for Upcoming Extraction Shooter

After an extended period of silence, Hyenas, the highly anticipated extraction shooter, has revealed plans for a closed beta test. The game, which gained attention following a leaked alpha test footage last year, will finally be available for players to experience firsthand. The closed beta test will run from August 31st to September 11th exclusively on PC, and interested players can now register on Steam.

Developed by Creative Assembly, renowned for their Total War strategy series, Hyenas offers a unique twist on the popular hero shooter genre. Set in space, players will engage in intense battles to secure licensed pop culture memorabilia, such as a Sonic the Hedgehog figurine. In fact, one of the playable characters in the game is a Sonic the Hedgehog cosplayer.

For those attending Gamescom in Cologne next week, there will be an opportunity to try out Hyenas in advance from August 23rd to 27th. Stay tuned for our thoughts on the game as we bring you coverage from the event.
