Expanding Your Energy Cell in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
In the game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players start with a single full battery in their Energy Cell. However, they can expand their Energy Cell by collecting crystallized charges from chests, enemies, and abandoned mines in the Depths. Once the Energy Cell is fully upgraded, players may still find themselves with a surplus of crystallized charges in their inventory. Fortunately, the game offers a new use for these charges, providing players with an incentive to continue collecting them even after obtaining all Energy Wells.
A New Shop for Zonai Devices
Upon obtaining the final Energy Well upgrade from a crystal refinery, players will discover a new shop run by the Steward Construct. This shop offers Zonai device capsules in exchange for a handful of crystallized charges. It’s worth noting that this shop features every type of Zonai device in the game, making it a convenient source for players to stock up on specific devices they may be lacking.
The Steward Construct’s shop usually has ten of each Zonai device in stock, with most devices priced at three crystallized charges each. The Big Batteries are an exception, requiring 30 crystallized charges for purchase. This shop is particularly valuable for players seeking Big Batteries, as they are otherwise scarce in the game. While a fully upgraded Energy Cell should provide sufficient battery power for most situations, having extra Big Batteries can be advantageous.
Ultimately, I found the Zonai capsule dispensers in the crystal refineries to be a more efficient method of acquiring specific Zonai devices. However, crystal refineries remain the only locations in Tears of the Kingdom where players can find every Zonai device in one place. Therefore, keeping a supply of crystallized charges on hand can still greatly benefit players in terms of device availability.
