Gamescom Anticipates Premiere of Crimson Desert Gameplay Footage during Opening Night Live
Gamescom, the highly anticipated gaming event, is just around the corner and is set to kick off with Opening Night Live next week. This E3-style showcase of upcoming games will be hosted by the renowned Geoff Keighley. Exciting news has just been revealed by Keighley himself: the long-awaited Crimson Desert will finally break its silence and unveil new gameplay footage during the event.
Crimson Desert initially made its debut at The Game Awards in 2020 and originates from Pearl Abyss, the well-known studio behind the massively multiplayer online game Black Desert Online. Offering a captivating single-player open-world RPG experience, Crimson Desert takes place in the gritty medieval fantasy realm of Pywel. This biodiverse continent serves as the home to humans, fantastical races, and mystical creatures. Players will find themselves immersed in a world filled with political turmoil and power struggles, as they assume the role of Macduff, a skilled mercenary who must rally a band of allies in order to survive.
With its Western fantasy aesthetics reminiscent of popular series like Game of Thrones, Crimson Desert also delivers thrilling combat mechanics. Players can expect fast-paced melee combat, utilizing a wide array of weapons, as well as awe-inspiring magical abilities. For those who have yet to witness the game in action, a gameplay overview was released alongside the initial announcement.
Crimson Desert’s release date is yet to be confirmed. However, earlier this year, Pearl Abyss CEO Jin-Young Heo mentioned that the game is aiming for a release window in the fall of 2023. Fans are eagerly awaiting any updates regarding the game’s progress, and Opening Night Live, which will be broadcasted on August 22 at 11 a.m. Pacific/2 p.m. Eastern, may provide the much-anticipated information.
