Ubisoft Montreal Launches Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile Soft Launch in Canada

Ubisoft Montreal has announced the soft launch of its highly anticipated title Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile on iOS and Android platforms in Canada. This comes after two successful closed beta tests, with the first one taking place last year and the second running from early June to mid-July 2023. After the initial soft launch in Canada, the game will enter a second soft launch phase for Android devices in Mexico starting from September 4, followed by other regions.

The Rainbow Six franchise revolves around a secret international counterterrorist organization known as Rainbow, composed of operators from around the world as they combat the global rise in terrorism.

Journey Begins

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile was officially announced in April 2022, adding to the extensive list of game adaptations of Tom Clancy’s work. The author’s previous titles have spawned popular games like Elite Squad, which was released in 2020 but was shut down in 2021. Another upcoming game based on the Tom Clancy universe is Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, which was announced in 2022 but is yet to be launched. The Rainbow Six series itself has seen six mobile game releases, with the most recent being Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard, a remake of the original, released in 2011.

Open Season

During the soft launch phase, players will have the opportunity to experience the game’s first lite season, Fallen Sakura. While details about this season are limited, the name suggests a strong Japanese theme.

Based on feedback from the closed beta tests, the soft launch has implemented several quality of life improvements. These include fixes to address latency issues and the introduction of two new game modes along with a beta-ranked mode.

Ubisoft has also confirmed that progression made during the soft launch will carry over to the official launch of the game next year.

Last week, Ubisoft conducted the first closed beta test for Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, the latest addition to the popular franchise.
