Hoyoverse has revealed that Honkai: Star Rail will make its debut on PlayStation 5 on October 11, 2023. The awaited free-to-play turn-based RPG, developed by the creators of Genshin Impact, originally launched on PC and mobile in April and will now be available on the PS5 platform.

Honkai: Star Rail will be accessible as a free download on PS5, offering cross-play capabilities and cross-progression. This means that players can seamlessly switch between playing on PC or mobile and continue their progress on console.

While the game will be released for free, players have the option to purchase a limited pre-order bundle, allowing them to pre-download the game before its official launch. The bundle includes exclusive in-game items such as two Star Rail Passes, 150,000 credits, and other goods to enhance character abilities and weapons.

This marks the first time Hoyoverse has introduced paid pre-downloads for Honkai: Star Rail. This option was previously available for PC and mobile users as a way to avoid the need to download a large game file on release day. The same approach was taken for the launch of Genshin Impact on PS5.

Pre-registrations are now open on the official website, offering players the opportunity to sign up and receive pre-registration rewards. Additionally, logging into the game upon release will grant players login rewards.

In Honkai: Star Rail, players will choose between two protagonists and embark on a galactic journey aboard the Astral Express. As they progress through the story, players will encounter other characters who can be added to their party and become playable.

The game incorporates a gacha system, where players can earn specific currency to obtain characters and weapons from the in-game store.
