Sea of Thieves’ third and final Monkey Island Tall Tale arrives next week

After two exciting adventures, Sea of Thieves’ popular Monkey Island quest will soon come to an end. Rare has officially announced that the third and final installment will be released next Thursday, September 28th. This will pave the way for the game’s tenth season, set to launch on October 19th.

The three-part Monkey Island adventure, known as The Legend of Monkey Island, began in July. Players were taken on a thrilling quest to Mêlée Island, where Guybrush Threepwood, thanks to the Sea of the Damned, became the most powerful pirate of all time. The first episode successfully captured the essence of the classic point-and-click game, and the second episode, released last month, took things to a whole new level.

In the upcoming Episode three, titled The Lair of LeChuck, players will be transported to a stunning rendition of Monkey Island itself. The island features various landscapes, including dense jungles and lava-filled catacombs. You can catch a glimpse of this beautiful rendition in Sea of Thieves’ latest news update video, starting at the 4:49 mark.

Following the release of the concluding episode of The Legend of Monkey Island, Sea of Thieves will host another Community Weekend from September 30th to October 2nd. During this event, players can enjoy various bonuses, such as increased gold, reputation, renown, and allegiance, to help them level up in Season 9’s battle pass.

Season 9 has lasted longer than expected, currently spanning almost seven months. However, fans of Sea of Thieves won’t have to wait much longer for Season 10. Rare has announced that they will be unveiling details about the upcoming season in a livestream tomorrow, September 21st, at 4pm UK time.

While we anticipate more information about Season 10, Rare has teased a couple of small additions. When the new season begins on October 19th, players can expect multi-colored bandanas (though the term ‘headbands’ may be more accurate) and multi-colored rowboats. Additionally, Captains will finally be able to save rowboats to their ships after finding one in the wild, fulfilling a request from players that’s been five years in the making.

In summary, get ready for the final Monkey Island Tall Tale on September 28th and mark your calendars for the start of Season 10 on October 19th. Stay tuned for more details about the new season.
