New Xbox Update Preview for Alpha Insiders

Attention Xbox Insiders! We have an exciting new Xbox Update Preview coming to the Alpha ring. While some of the updates in this preview OS build may not be immediately visible, they include important background improvements that contribute to the overall quality and stability of Xbox consoles. Our goal is to ensure that you are always aware of the updates coming to your device. Check out the details below!

System Update Details:

  • OS version released: XB_FLT_2310ZN25398.2453.230928-1038
  • Available: 2 p.m. PT – October 2, 2023
  • Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 3, 2023

Fixes Implemented

Thanks to the hard work of Xbox engineers, we are happy to announce the following fixes have been implemented for this build:


  • We have made various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console. Please note that users participating in the Preview may encounter “odd” text across the console. For more information, click here.

Known Issues

We understand that some issues have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. Rest assured, the Xbox engineering team is actively working on finding solutions, though it may take some time.


  • We have received reports of users experiencing intermittent audio issues across the dashboard, games, and apps. If you encounter these issues, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately, selecting the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues.” Provide as much information as possible to help us resolve the issue.

Keyboard Button Mapping for Xbox Controllers

  • If you change your keyboard language settings while the Xbox Accessories app is open, the change will be reflected after quitting the app or rebooting your console.

Manage Queue

  • When the queue is empty, the border surrounding “When games and apps are installing, you’ll see them here” may extend off-screen. We are actively working on a fix for this issue.


  • We are currently investigating reports of the console not connecting to the network as expected on boot. If you experience this issue, please report it via Report a Problem as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can try waiting for a minute to establish the connection. If it doesn’t connect, restart your Xbox from the Power Center.

Remember to use Report a Problem to keep us informed of any issues you encounter. While we may not be able to respond to everyone, the data we gather from your feedback is crucial in finding a resolution.
