Xbox Update Preview for Delta Ring

Attention Xbox Insiders! We have an exciting new Xbox Update Preview coming soon to the Delta ring. These preview OS builds include important background improvements to ensure a high-quality and stable experience for your Xbox consoles.

Even when the visible changes to the UI are minimal, we believe it’s essential to keep you informed about updates coming to your device. So, here are the details!

System Update Details

  • OS version released: XB_FLT_2310ZN25398.2453.230928-1038
  • Available: 4 p.m. PT – October 3, 2023
  • Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – October 4, 2023

New Features and Experiences

Exciting news for Delta users! Something new is on the way to your Xbox Update Preview.

Play From Profile

With today’s update, a random subset of users will find it easier to access, play, and view details about games others are playing directly from their profiles. Additionally, the join and invite commands on these pages will be reorganized.

Xbox Game Pass

For a random subset of users, when launching an Xbox Game Pass title that is leaving the catalog soon, a new dialog box will appear. This dialog box will provide clarity on the exact departure date and offer a convenient way to purchase the game to continue playing even after it has left the catalog.

Fixes Implemented

Thanks to the hard work of our Xbox engineers, we are thrilled to announce the following fixes for this build:

  • Various updates have been made to ensure accurate local language representation across the console.
    • Note: Users participating in the Preview may come across “odd” text throughout the console. For more information, visit the link here.

Known Issues

We understand that certain issues have been mentioned in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes. Rest assured, these items are not being ignored, but our engineers require additional time to find a solution.

  • Some users have reported intermittent audio issues across the dashboard, games, and apps.
    • Note: If you come across audio problems, please submit feedback via the Report a Problem feature immediately. Use the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option and select the categories “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”.
    • When reporting the issue, provide as much information as possible:
      • When did the issue start?
      • Did you lose audio in just the game/app or also in the system audio?
      • Did changing the audio format resolve the issue? If yes, what were the formats before and after?
      • Does rebooting resolve the issue?
      • Details about your setup (equipment, layout, etc.)
      • Any additional information that can help reproduce the problem.

Keyboard Button Mapping for Xbox Controllers

  • If you change your keyboard language settings while the Xbox Accessories app is open, the change will be reflected after quitting the app or rebooting your console.

Manage Queue

  • When the queue is empty, the border around “When games and apps are installing, you’ll see them here” may extend off-screen. We are currently working on a fix.

  • We are investigating reports of a networking issue where the console may not connect to the network as expected upon boot. If you encounter this problem, please report it via the Report a Problem feature as soon as possible.
    • Workaround: Allow a minute for the connection to establish. If your console still doesn’t connect, restart it from the Power Center by holding the Xbox button, selecting “Restart console”, and then “Restart”.

Remember to use Report a problem to keep us informed about any issues you encounter. While we may not be able to respond to everyone, the data we collect is crucial in helping us find a resolution.

What Happens to Your Feedback

If you’re an Xbox Insider in need of support, please visit the community subreddit. There, you’ll find Official Xbox staff, moderators, and fellow Xbox Insiders ready to assist you with any concerns you may have.

Before posting on the subreddit, we recommend checking the most recent posts to see if your issue has already been addressed. We encourage responding to existing threads with the same problem before creating a new one. This approach helps us provide the best possible support. And don’t forget to use “Report a problem” before posting! The information you share in both places helps us better understand your issue.
