Forza Motorsport Review – High-Speed Excellence

Forza Motorsport has always had a special place in my heart. It was a major part of my childhood and remains my favorite racing game series. The latest installment, Forza Motorsport, maintains the same fantastic driving simulator experience I grew up with, but with even better graphics and improved car mechanics.

Gotta Go Fast Cars

One of the key aspects of Forza Motorsport is its focus on cars. And let me tell you, it does not disappoint. The game’s emphasis on improving your lap times and upgrading your cars is what makes it so engaging and enjoyable. The new Car Leveling system is particularly impressive. As a fan of RPGs, leveling up characters is something I’m very familiar with. Bringing this concept into a racing game is a stroke of genius. Your car becomes your ultimate party member as you progress through each Series, which are like mini-arc storylines. To compete with the best, you’ll need to have the fastest car, and that’s where the Car Leveling system comes in. It’s a simple yet rewarding process of unlocking upgrades as you level up your car.

Taking it to the Next Level

The introduction of the Car Leveling system has made car upgrades more meaningful and exciting. In the past, you could upgrade your car at any time with your in-game money. Now, upgrades are locked until you reach a certain level. This change adds a sense of progression and accomplishment to the game. Leveling up your car feels satisfying, and achieving a perfect score on a track segment is incredibly rewarding. The experience points you earn for performing well on the track make you feel like the best driver in the world.

Take the Wheel

When it comes to the actual driving experience in Forza Motorsport, it’s hard to find any faults. The handling of the cars is impeccable, and the sensation of speed is unmatched. I’ve lost count of the number of times where I found myself physically leaning into the corners while playing. Each car feels unique, and the differences between them are noticeable. Upgrading your car actually makes a tangible difference in its performance, requiring you to reacquaint yourself with its handling. This level of detail showcases the impact of each upgrade and adds depth to the gameplay.

One Track Mind

Forza Motorsport’s visuals are absolutely stunning. The game is a visual feast, especially when it comes to the various tracks. One track that stood out to me is Maple Valley, a classic staple of Forza. The attention to detail in this track is remarkable, with beautiful trees lining the sides and a picturesque bridge in between. The final few corners of Maple Valley are expertly designed, making them particularly thrilling to drive on.

Another track that deserves special mention is Hakone Circuit. This new addition to Forza Motorsport is simply breathtaking. The off-track areas are filled with intricate details, and the cherry blossom trees and the iconic Mount Fuji in the background create a truly awe-inspiring experience. I was so captivated by this track that I found myself pausing the game multiple times to take in the scenery using Photo Mode.
