Get ready for some spooky fun because Fortnitemares 2023 has officially arrived in Fortnite! Epic Games has brought back the highly-anticipated Halloween-themed event for the battle royale game. This annual event introduces a variety of eerie elements, including new skins, items, and special quests with exciting rewards. This year, players will take on the role of vampire hunters.

One of the reasons Fortnite remains so popular is its regular updates from Epic Games, which follow a live service content delivery style. This model ensures that players always have new holiday-inspired content to look forward to each year. Each iteration of Fortnitemares has delivered thrilling surprises, and this year is no exception.

Fortnitemares 2023 Skins

To mark the launch of Fortnitemares 2023, Epic Games released a short trailer and a detailed post on Fortnite’s official website. Last year, popular characters Rick and Morty made an appearance in the game, and this year, players can expect some big-name characters from other franchises. Confirmed skins include Alan Wake, Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Michael Myers.

Additionally, Fortnite is introducing new and returning outfits in its line of cosmetics. Players can acquire skins like Phantom Meowscles, wrapped rapscallion Seth, Festival Phaedra, and Muckfish Bogstick from the Item Shop.

Unvaulted Fortnitemares 2023 Weapons

Alongside the skins, Fortnite is bringing back iconic Halloween weapons such as the Pumpkin Launcher, Sanguine Sweets (including Jelly Beans, Candy Corn, Hop Drops, and Pepper Mints), and the Witch Broom.

The Pumpkin Launcher adds a Halloween touch to the vampire hunter theme. This weapon allows players to launch explosive jack-o’-lanterns, scaring their opponents. Pumpkin Launchers can be found in regular and Rare Chests, flying drones, on the ground, and through Holo-Chests.

Sanguine Sweets provide players with various benefits during battle. For example, Hop Drops grant players a temporary low gravity effect. These items can be obtained by ringing doorbells, defeating bosses, searching Candy Buckets, or vanquishing guards.

Finally, players can utilize the Witch Broom, launching themselves into the air to glide back down to the surface. This ability is especially useful during unexpected skirmishes. Witch Brooms can be found on the ground and in Chests.

In a Vampire Hunting Mood? Try Using These New Weapons

In addition to the unvaulted items, Epic Games has introduced new weapons for players to enjoy: the Wood Stake Shotgun and Thorne’s Vampiric Blade.

As the event progresses, players will face Kado Thorne, and the Wood Stake Shotgun is the weapon required to defeat him. This weapon can pierce through Thorne’s heart, disintegrating him from the inside out. The Wood Stake Shotgun is relatively easy to find, as it can be obtained from the ground, Rare and regular Chests, and Holo-Chests. Kado Thorne can be found at the Eclipse Estate.

If players successfully defeat Kado Thorne, they will be rewarded with Thorne’s Vampiric Blade, a Mythic blade fitting for a vampire. This unique weapon restores the player’s health whenever they damage an enemy using it. A portion of the player’s HP gradually replenishes with every hit.

Partake in Fortnitemares 2023 Challenges to Earn Rewards

While it’s tempting to focus on using the Pumpkin Launcher and other exciting features, don’t forget to complete the Fortnitemares Quests to earn in-game rewards. These quests provide XP, and upon completion of various amounts, players can unlock a range of new locker items.

• 5 Fortnitemares Quests – Cat Banner Icon and Bat Royale Back Bling
• 15 Fortnitemares Quests – Hypno-Bat Spray, Sweet! Emote, and Phantasmic Fall Contrail
• 25 Fortnitemares Quests – Rise of the Revenant Lobby Track, Revenant Rider Glider, and Within the Sanctum Loading Screen

Additional quests will become available progressively during the Fortnitemares event. Objectives will vary, from utilizing the new and unvaulted items to executing a heist on Thorne’s properties.

Horde Rush is Back

The beloved limited-time mode, Horde Rush, is making a return to Fortnite. Players must work together to survive the hordes of Cube Monsters at different locations. The goal is simple: stay alive until the final boss is defeated. Players can increase their scores by eliminating monsters, performing combos, and collecting score multipliers.

Horde Rush has its own set of quests, and completing specific numbers of quests rewards players with the following:

• 1 Horde Rush Quest – The Murk Wrap
• 4 Horde Rush Quests – Heart-o-Lantern Emoticon
• 7 Horde Rush Quests – Batwing Bonespike Pickaxe
