It’s official, Fortnite is returning to Chapter 1 next month

Epic Games Teases Return to Chapter One in Fortnite Update

In an exciting announcement, Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite will be revisiting Chapter One in its latest major update. This news follows weeks of speculation about the return of the original map through time travel.

Set to launch on November 3, details about the update are still scarce, but fans are already buzzing with anticipation. Epic Games has assured players that the update will feature the beloved sprinting and mantle mechanics.

It’s not yet confirmed whether the original map will make a comeback, but earlier in Chapter Four Season Four, a time machine was introduced into the game, accompanied by a loading screen displaying a specific date. This fueled rumors and speculation about a potential return to the initial map.

The date shown on the time machine is June 12, 2018, which coincides with the release of Chapter One Season Five. This strongly suggests that during the final event of the current season, players could be transported back to the original map.

In patch 26.30, the time machine seemingly brought items from Chapter One Season Five to the current map. These artifacts can be found in Frenzy Fields and a billboard in Mega City, serving as nostalgic reminders of the chapter from five years ago.

This exciting news comes after Mark Rein, the head of Epic Games, shared a tweet teasing the upcoming season of Fortnite with the word “rewind.”

While all signs point to a return to Chapter One, Epic Games is notorious for keeping players in suspense, so fans will have to wait a little longer for official confirmation.
