COD Modern Warfare 3 Soap Death
Tragically, John “Soap” MacTavish meets his demise at the end of the Modern Warfare 3 Campaign mode. In the Countdown main mission, the team embarks on a dangerous mission to infiltrate a London rail tunnel and prevent the detonation of bombs intended to harm innocent civilians. Players will assume control of Price as they rescue hostages and engage in intense combat with Konni troops.
As the team discovers the bombs and attempts to defuse them, Makarov launches a surprise attack on Price and Soap. Although Soap puts up a fight, he ultimately succumbs to Makarov’s gunshots. The group of soldiers, mourning the loss of their comrade, must push on with their mission.
In the closing scenes, Laswell writes a confidential report declaring John “Soap” MacTavish as KIA (killed in action). Following this, the three remaining men gather at the edge of a cliff to hold a small funeral for their fallen friend.
Soap’s body is cremated, and Ghost retrieves a large Urn from a bag. The three surviving men pay their final respects, sharing words of farewell as they hold the Urn together. Once their goodbyes are said, Ghost opens the Urn and releases Soap’s ashes to be carried away by the wind.
Soap is not the only character who meets a grim fate in Modern Warfare 3. General Shepherd also falls victim as Price takes decisive action, eliminating the hidden threat. Price pays the general a visit at night and promptly delivers a fatal gunshot to his head.
