World of Warcraft Announces “The Worldsoul Saga” – A Trilogy of Expansions
In a thrilling announcement at Blizzcon, Chris Metzen, the executive creative director of Warcraft, revealed “The Worldsoul Saga,” an upcoming story event for World of Warcraft that will span three new expansions.
While the next expansion was not unveiled, Metzen shared exciting details about these three expansions, which will unfold over the next few years. Additionally, Blizzard is exploring new methods to release these expansions to players, although further information is not yet available.
World of Warcraft: The War Within
The first expansion, “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” will take players deep into the heart of Azeroth, where they will encounter the Earthen and the Nerubians. In this classic World of Warcraft experience, players will be called upon to defeat the forces of evil.
World of Warcraft: Midnight
The second part of “The Worldsoul Saga” brings players back to Quel’Thalas as they face the forces of the void who seek to taint the Sunwell. Players must rally the scattered Elven tribe and confront the shadows in an epic battle.
World of Warcraft: The Last Titan
The third and final part of “The Worldsoul Saga,” “World of Warcraft: The Last Titan,” returns players to the old world. In Northrend, they will witness the resurgence of the titans and uncover a vast conspiracy surrounding these powerful beings.
Although Metzen recently assumed the role of Warcraft’s executive creative director, he played a significant role in shaping the Warcraft universe before his retirement in 2016. He then returned to Blizzard part-time in 2022 in an advisory capacity.
The audience at Blizzcon 2023 enthusiastically received the news about these three expansions, which mark World of Warcraft’s 10th, 11th, and 12th installments.
