Braid: Anniversary Edition Turns Back The Clock Next April

In April 2021, Braid: Anniversary Edition, a modern remaster of the 2008 indie classic Braid, is set to be released after years of anticipation. Originally announced in August 2020, the project has been eagerly awaited by fans of the original game.

The original Braid was released on Xbox 360’s Live Arcade in August 2008, featuring a 2D platformer with time manipulation mechanics. The game received critical acclaim for its innovative gameplay and thoughtful storytelling, playing a significant role in popularizing indie gaming.

The remastered update will include enhanced visuals, featuring repainted graphics by the original Braid artist, David Hellman, as well as improved sound and new mixes of the soundtrack. Players will also have the option to switch between the updated visuals and the original presentation.

Braid: Anniversary Edition will also include over 15 hours of commentary from creator Johnathan Blow and other creators/historians, providing a deep dive into the game’s creation and legacy. The goal is to offer a comprehensive and interactive commentary experience that adds value for both new and returning players.

The remaster will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and even Netflix, allowing a wide range of players to experience the new iteration of this indie classic.
