Ark: Survival Ascended Developer Shares Update on Console Ports

Ark: Survival Ascended coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Soon

Studio Wildcard has announced that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S ports of Ark: Survival Ascended are expected to launch within the next two weeks, although not simultaneously.

According to an official statement from Studio Wildcard, the Xbox version is anticipated to be released early next week, pending the resolution of unexpected issues encountered during the certification process. The studio has not disclosed the specific nature of the problems but has assured fans that it is collaborating with Microsoft to resolve them. An exact release date for the Xbox version will be announced later this week.

Concurrently, the development team is in the process of working with Sony on the PlayStation 5 release of Survival Ascended. An exact release window will be provided as the PS5 port nears completion, with the hopes of launching by the end of the month.

Despite the delay and unforeseen issues, Studio Wildcard’s statement indicates that the new game is soon to be released. Survival Ascended was announced in March 2023 as a remake of Ark: Survival Evolved, and while it was initially scheduled for release on all platforms on October 25, the early access version was launched on PC, with console versions delayed to November.

Unfortunately, the early access version has garnered mixed reviews on Steam, citing crashes, server problems, and poor performance. The hope is that the console versions of Ark: Survival Ascended will have a smoother launch than the PC version.
