All Melody Bay Tadpole Music Puzzles in Super Mario RPG

The Super Mario RPG Melody Bay puzzles involve jumping on the tadpoles in the correct order. The activity is located in Tadpole Pond, accessible after getting past Midas River. Once you arrive, head to the right to find a body of water. Up to eight tadpoles will move from left to right, and you must press the B button to jump at the right time.

Completing each song puzzle will earn you a card from the composer, an NPC named Toadofsky. These cards unlock new items that can be purchased from a vendor in Tadpole Pond.

Melody Bay Song #1: Frog Sage Suite No. 18 (Alto Card)

The first Melody Bay song puzzle can be completed the moment you arrive in Tadpole Pond. You’ll receive a hint from the tadpole NPC along the path leading to Melody Bay. The solution is shown in the image below.

Melody Bay Song #2: Moleville Miners’ Song (Tenor Card)

The second song puzzle can be completed after progressing through Moleville and Moleville Mines. After rescuing the kids in the tunnels, your mine cart will crash back in the village. Fast travel back to Tadpole Pond to play another tune. The solution can be found in the image below.

Melody Bay Song #3: Monstro Town Star Song (Soprano Card)

The third and final puzzle involves the starfish NPC in Monstro Town. Visit the elder’s house and check upstairs to interact with the starfish on a shelf. Return to Tadpole Pond/Melody Bay to complete the puzzle. You can then jump on the tadpoles in the order provided below.

Each Melody Bay puzzle earns you a card from Toadofsky, allowing you to purchase additional items from a vendor in Tadpole Pond. The available rewards and prices are:

  • Default: Tadpola Cola – Party recovers 30 HP; costs 8 coins.
  • Alto Card (first puzzle): Frogleg Cola – Party recovers 80 HP; costs 24 coins.
  • Tenor Card (second puzzle): Finless Cola – Party recovers 150 HP; costs 60 coins.
  • Soprano Card (third puzzle): Croaka Cola – Party recovers fully; costs 200 coins.
