Destiny 2’s latest significant update coincides with the beginning of Season of the Wish and is bringing substantial changes to gameplay, including adjustments to Crucible, abilities, armor mods, and more. Here’s what you need to know about the update.
Ability Changes
Update 7.3.0 brings changes to melee slides and shoulder charges, reducing their lethality. Players who are hit by certain displacing melee abilities will experience a halved melee lunge suppression time. Numerous abilities across multiple subclasses have been tweaked, with more information available in the full patch notes below.
Crucible Updates
Season of the Wish is bringing a variety of changes to Crucible, including a double rewards booster and the return of the Citadel map. Additionally, rewards for completing activities have been improved, with increased base Glimmer awards, added chances for Enhancement Cores to be awarded, and further increased award chances for winning a Gambit match, Competitive Division match, or achieving a high score in a strike or Nightfall.
Weapon and Armor Tuning
There are numerous tuning and adjustments to weapons and armor as the new season begins. Notable buffs include a promised increase to glaives, while the Osteo Striga is having its poison damage nerfed. The Celestial Nighthawk, has been buffed as well, with a 25% increase to its Golden Gun impact damage.
