Best way to get Dark Ether Tincture fast in Destiny 2 Warlord’s Ruin

To complete In the Shadow of the Mountain quest attached to Destiny 2 Warlord’s Ruin, you need to get a lot of Dark Ether Tincture. I’ll show you the fast cheese way to do this and also tell you all the ways Dark Ether Tincture is collected in Warlord’s Ruin.

The best way to farm Dark Ether Tincture fast is to defeat the first Thieving Wretch found at the bridge section, which is the very beginning of Warlord’s Ruin, then wipe, and then repeat. I’ve used this strategy to complete the In the Shadow of the Mountain quest and a Thieving Wretch always spawns at the beginning of the Dungeon. If it doesn’t appear, wipe and try again. Oh, and each one of these screebs gives about 20 Dark Ether Tinctures.

The trick with getting the most Dark Ether Tincture from the Thieving Wretch is to not deal any damage until it is across the bridge. Once it’s on the other side, use everything you’ve got. The reason for this is if you deal damage to Thieving Wretch on the bridge, then most of the Dark Ether Tincture is going to fall off.

There are tons of adds on this side, so I highly recommend using your best DPS Super and Rocket Launchers like Dragon’s Breath to clear them all out all while focusing the majority of your fire on the Thieving Wretch.

If you don’t quickly kill the Thieving Wretch once it’s past the bridge, it will continue running away by heading into the castle, up the stairs on the left, and eventually disappearing before the first boss. I recommend chasing it and destroying it before it disappears as that’s how you’ll bank the most Dark Ether Tincture. Once the Thieving Wretch is destroying and you’ve collected all the Dark Ether Tincture, jump off the bridge to reset back to the beginning and run it again.

If you get tired of grinding the same Dark Ether Tincture farm, then you can get Dark Ether Tincture other ways. There are only two ways that I know of: defeating Thieving Wretch screebs and having someone collect Hefnd Bones for the first time that you already have.

There are about four or five Thieving Wretches spread out across the entire Warlord’s Ruin map, so you can destroy those when you find them to get a lot of Dark Ether Tincture. It’s more fun to run the entire Dungeon and destroy them when you see them, but the farm I described above is faster.

You gain five Dark Ether Tincture every time a player picks up an Ahamkaram Bone for the first time. If you sherpa two new players and have already collected all the bones, you can get 100 Dark Ether Tincture (50 each from each player collecting the 10 Hefnd Bones). Not only is this rewarding because you’re helping people out, but it’s a great way to get a lot of Dark Ether Tincture fast.
