Fortnite Is Giving Players More Time To Escape The Storm

Epic Games Makes First Balance Tweak to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1

In response to player feedback, Fortnite has made its first balance tweak since the launch of Chapter 5 Season 1. The tweak focuses on making the storm easier to escape and comes following major changes to movement in the game.

Change to Storm Circles

In a post to the Fortnite Status account on X, Epic Games announced that Storm Circles 1 and 2 will now take 20 seconds longer to close. This adjustment is aimed at addressing player feedback that it has been too difficult to escape the storm since the launch of Chapter 5.

Continued Monitoring and Future Changes

The update also mentioned that the Fortnite team will be closely monitoring data to determine if further changes are necessary in the future.

Chapter 5 Launch Overview

The launch of Chapter 5 brought about a variety of changes, from the introduction of a new map and content, to controversial alterations that have affected gameplay. While Epic has expressed a desire to give time for the unpopular movement changes to settle, it has also assured players that their feedback will be taken into consideration.

Player Response

Despite this, many players have expressed dissatisfaction with the changes, with comments on the Fortnite Status update urging Epic to revert movement back to its pre-Chapter 5 state.

Additions in Chapter 5

On a more positive note, certain additions in Chapter 5 have been well-received by players, such as the inclusion of a jacked version of Family Guy’s Peter Griffin in the game after years of speculation.

New Game Experiences

Aside from updates to the core battle royale mode, Epic is also introducing new in-game experiences, including a Lego game, an arcade racer, and a Rock Band-style Fortnite Festival.

While some changes may be divisive, Fortnite continues to evolve and bring new experiences to its players.
