Diablo 4: How to Get Sigil Powder
If you’re a seasoned Diablo 4 player, you know how challenging Nightmare Sigils can be. But fear not, we have the scoop on how to obtain the elusive Sigil Powder.
If you’ve made it to endgame content in Diablo 4, then you are familiar with Nightmare Sigils. These are Whispers of the Dead rewards that are found at World Tier 3: Nightmare. They grant access to specific Nightmare Dungeons, which are considerably more difficult than regular dungeons, but offer much better rewards, including more Nightmare Sigils. While Nightmare Sigils are typically used to continue opening dungeons, they can also be salvaged by visiting the Occultist in Kyovashad. Once salvaged, you will collect Sigil Powder that can be used to purchase other Nightmare Sigils.
But why would you want to salvage Nightmare Sigils? The answer lies in the Dungeon Affixes. Depending on the tier of the Nightmare Dungeon (ranging from 1 to 100), the corresponding Sigil will have an increasing number of negative affixes. These are dungeon-specific modifiers that can make the dungeons even more challenging. You might receive a bonus, such as an increase in Critical Strike chance, but your enemies can also receive numerous boosts that may outnumber your positive modifiers. If you find yourself facing a particularly daunting set of Nightmare Sigils’ Affixes, salvaging the Sigil into Powder might give you a better chance at rolling a more favorable Sigil.

While obtaining a better Sigil with improved Affixes is possible, luck still plays a significant role. Higher-tier Nightmare Dungeons are already incredibly difficult without any negative modifiers, so keep this in mind and be adaptable in your decision-making and Sigil Powder crafting.
