Narrative Adventure Game Open Roads Gets February Release Date

Exciting News for Open Roads: Release Date Announced with New Trailer

Open Roads, the highly anticipated narrative adventure game featuring Keri Russell and Kaitlyn Dever, has finally received a release date. After nearly three years since its initial reveal at The Game Awards 2020, the game will be launching on February 22, 2024 for consoles and PC.

Today, publisher Annapurna Interactive unveiled the official release date along with a brand new trailer that showcases Russell discussing the game. Be sure to watch the Open Roads release date trailer below to get a glimpse of what’s in store.

One of the reasons for the extended delay in announcing the release date could be attributed to the upheaval in the game’s development team. Following allegations of a hostile work environment against original creative lead Steve Gaynor in 2021, Open Roads underwent significant changes, ultimately distancing itself from Fullbright. The small group of developers now operates under the name Open Roads Team, marking a new chapter in the game’s journey.

Back in 2022, Game Informer conducted an in-depth interview with the Open Roads Team to discuss these changes, providing valuable insight into the development process and the team’s determination to move forward with the game.

Described as a road trip adventure, Open Roads follows the story of Tess and Opal as they explore long-abandoned properties, delving into the past and unearthing buried memories. This journey not only reveals the truth they have been seeking but also brings them closer together.

Open Roads is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on February 22, 2024.
