Is the Chest Durability Glitch Patched in LEGO Fortnite?

Does the Chest Durability Glitch Work in LEGO Fortnite?

According to players, a glitch in LEGO Fortnite was discovered that allowed them to restore their tools’ durability. But does it still work?

Unfortunately, the chest durability glitch has been patched by Epic Games. This fix was expected, as the glitch provided players with an unfair advantage. However, the fix was a point of contention as Epic Games had not addressed the issue until the 13th of December Patch.

Players voiced their frustration with the state of durability in the game, which led to Epic Games addressing the issue by increasing all tools’ durability by +30%. This rendered the glitch obsolete.

Even though the glitch is no longer viable, the community appreciates Epic Games’ response and the alternative solution. The durability increase is a step in the right direction, although some players are still calling for additional methods to repair tools. For now, the majority seem satisfied with the change.

How the Chest Durability Glitch Worked in LEGO Fortnite

Before the patch, the chest durability glitch was simple to execute, which made it appealing to players.

The glitch allowed players, upon breaking a chest with items inside, to have everything drop as usual. However, any tools found in a chest would be dropped at maximum durability, regardless of their actual condition.

If you brought enough planks for a chest and could make a tool, you essentially had an infinitely renewable weapon.

While the glitch was overpowered, it was seen as a way to address the excessive tool durability in the game at that time.

Now, chests appear to function differently. It’s unclear if this is intentional or a bug, but chests no longer drop all of their contents when broken. If tools are dropped, they do maintain their current durability, but there is no guarantee that they will drop at all.

Players need to be cautious to avoid losing their hard-earned tools and valuable loot, similar to how the glitch was addressed.

Despite the initial durability issue, there are ways to mitigate this problem in-game.
