As 2023 comes to an end, Pokémon Go is gearing up for a massive Community Day Weekend event. This year’s event will feature all of the Pokémon that were highlighted in Community Days throughout the year, with the added bonus of including some Pokémon from 2022.
The event is scheduled to take place on Dec. 16 and 17, with most of the perks active from 2-5 p.m. in your local time. In addition to the standard Community Day features, there are some extra perks, such as special trades and evolving to obtain special moves, that will take place outside of the event period.
For avid collectors of shiny Pokémon or those who may have missed out on previous Community Days, this event presents a golden opportunity. It also allows trainers to capture powerful Pokémon like Conkeldurr and Blastoise.

When these Pokémon evolve on Dec. 16 starting at 9 a.m. until Dec. 17 at 9 p.m., they will learn a special move (with Ursaluna being a special exception):
- Charmeleon → Charizard: Dragon Breath and Blast Burn
- Wartortle → Blastoise: Hydro Cannon
- Sandshrew → Sandslash: Night Slash
December Community Day Bonuses and Perks
From 2-5 p.m. on both days, the following bonuses will be active:
- Catch XP doubled
- Catch Stardust doubled
- Catch candy doubled (XL included)
- Hatch distance for eggs put into Incubators during the above time halved
- Lures last for three hours
- Incense last for three hours
From 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on both days, trainers will also have the opportunity to do two special trades per day, with Stardust costs for trading halved.
