Winterfest Event Quest in Fortnite

There is a new winter event quest in Fortnite where players must travel a distance while continuously sliding with icy feet. However, some players have encountered a bug related to this quest. Luckily, there’s a simple solution to the issue.

How to Slide With Icy Feet in Fortnite

The icy feet mechanic has been a longstanding feature in Fortnite. Players can freeze their feet using the newly unvaulted Icy Grappler, which grants icy feet upon landing and has unlimited uses. This is the most effective method for completing the quest as it allows players to wait for a quiet moment away from enemy players before starting their challenge. Using a Snowman or a Snowy Flopper is possible too, but offers much less control over when and where icy feet are obtained.

Once you have the Icy Grappler, launch yourself into the air and then slide on the ground. Make sure to physically slide by pressing the crouch button, rather than just sliding across the ground with icy feet. You must perform a normal slide even with icy feet, which will enable you to slide at least 50 meters for this quest.

To make it easier, find a flat stretch of land, ping a short distance in front of you, adjust your position until you’re 50 meters away from your ping, sprint, and then press the crouch button to slide. This method will help you complete the quest once you reach the marked distance.

How to Fix the Icy Feet Sliding Quest Not Working in Fortnite

If the quest isn’t working for you, be sure that you’re sliding by pressing the crouch button rather than just letting the ice do the work. You also have to do all 50 meters in a single slide. If you’ve followed all these steps and it still isn’t working, it may be due to a bug. Many players have reported that the quest is bugged, and in such cases, players will have to wait for Epic Games to issue a hotfix to address the issue.
