Bloober Team has announced a new partnership with Skybound to develop a licensed horror game based on one of the company’s properties.

Following the announcement of their collaboration with Private Division for a new survival horror IP and their involvement in the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team continues to pursue ambitious projects with this latest venture.

According to Bloober Team’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, the company will be bringing its “horror know-how” to Skybound for the development of the new game, codenamed R, which is expected to be released in 2025.

Skybound is known for popular graphic novels such as The Walking Dead, Invincible, and the upcoming adaptation of anthology horror series Creepshow.

Bloober Team has made a name for itself in the indie horror gaming scene with titles like Layers of Fear and Observer. However, some of their recent releases, such as The Medium, have faced criticism. Additionally, the announcement of their involvement in the Silent Hill 2 remake has sparked controversy among long-time fans of the psychological horror series.

While the specific property for the new game has not been disclosed, The Walking Dead seems like a natural choice given its success as a comic book and AMC show. Previous game adaptations of The Walking Dead from the comics, such as Telltale’s The Walking Dead, have been well-received, while others based on the show have not fared as well.
