Karlach is a powerful ally in Baldur’s Gate 3, especially when equipped with the right feats to enhance her abilities. Here are my top three recommendations for feats for Karlach in BG3.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Best Karlach Feats
- Savage Attacker – After a successful melee weapon attack, roll your damage dice twice and use the higher result.
- Great Weapon Master – When you land a Critical Hit or defeat an enemy with a melee weapon attack, you can make another melee weapon attack as a bonus action that turn. Attacks with heavy melee weapons you are Proficient with can deal an additional 10 damage at the cost of a minus five to your Attack Roll. (This can be toggled on and off.)
- Martial Adept – Gain one Superiority Die and two maneuvers from the Fighter Battle Master subclass. Your Superiority Die refreshes after Short and Long Rests. I recommend Distracting Strike and Goading Attack.
- Weapon Master – Gain Proficiency with four weapons of your choice and increase your Strength or Dexterity by one to a maximum of 20.

As a Barbarian, Karlach excels in charging into battle, dealing high melee damage, and tanking hits. With this in mind, I recommend Savage Attacker, Great Weapon Master, and Martial Adept as the best feats for Karlach in BG3. If these don’t suit your style, consider switching out one of them for Weapon Master.
Savage Attacker
Savage Attacker is a straightforward feat that allows Karlach to consistently deal higher raw damage. Since she primarily uses melee weapons, Savage Attacker significantly enhances her combat effectiveness. I highly recommend this as the first feat for Karlach.
Great Weapon Master
Great Weapon Master is the second feat I recommend for Karlach, and it complements Savage Attacker perfectly. While it makes it harder to hit enemies, the damage output is significantly increased. Moreover, landing a Critical Hit or defeating an enemy allows Karlach to make an extra attack, which is incredibly powerful.
Martial Adept
Martial Adept provides Karlach with the ability to perform maneuvers that can give her allies advantages or redirect enemy focus. The drawback is that she only gets one Superiority Die, which is essential for executing maneuvers. To maximize this feat, I suggest multiclassing into the Fighter’s Battle Master subclass for more maneuvers and dice.
If you want to make the most of Martial Adept, I recommend multiclassing into Fighter and more specifically the Battle Master subclass so you get more Superiority Dice and maneuvers at your disposal. Regardless, having Karlach be able to use Goading Attack and Distracting Strike is powerful and handy.
Weapon Master
Unlike Great Weapon Master, this feat allows Karlach to increase her Strength and become proficient in four weapons of her choice. In a game like Baldur’s Gate 3, where a variety of weapons are available, this feat ensures she can make the most of any weapon she finds. Consider this feat if none of the others suit your preference.
While these are the best feats for Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s important to consider the feats for your other companions as well. Ensuring the entire party has the best feats will greatly enhance your overall gameplay experience in BG3.
