DoveV – here’s everything we know so far

DokeV was first revealed in 2019 by South Korean developer Pearl Abyss, and more detailed information about this third-person creature battler was provided a couple of years later. However, updates since then have been few and far between.

Set to be released on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, DokeV is expected to give a new twist to the Pokémon formula, as it features real-time monster battles. While the game maintains creature-collecting mechanics, it stands out with its stunning graphics and the unique, adorable, and at times absurd Dokebi creatures that players will collect.

Although there hasn’t been much information revealed about DokeV beyond a trailer from 2021, the glimpse provided in the trailer looks quite promising. The combat appears to be fluid and fast-paced, and the game’s vibrant colors and distinctive style exude a magical and bold simplicity. Despite much of the game remaining shrouded in mystery, we’ve gathered all available information to satisfy your curiosity.

DokeV is an open-world action adventure, which was originally announced as an MMO but has since shifted to a different approach, allowing the game to have its own unique identity without the limitations of the MMO genre.

The game features a variety of eccentrically designed creatures called Dokebi that aid players in combat. According to the official website, these Dokebi creatures come in bizarre designs ranging from an alarm clock with headphones to a panda/polar bear hybrid with boxing gloves. Therefore, DokeV boasts exceptional character designs.

Based on the 2021 trailer, Dokebi creatures appear to be stored in small prismatic discs and can be unleashed during combat encounters. Each creature showcases unique abilities that provide different advantages, making it crucial for players to choose the right Dokebi for each situation.

The game also presents various traversal options, including on foot, hoverboards, bicycles, and even a car. Additionally, players can soar through the air using a deployable parasol, similar to Fortnite, to quickly reach specific locations on the map.

Furthermore, the game’s trailers indicate social aspects such as fishing, flying kites, and beach hangouts, suggesting potential cooperative experiences when DokeV is released.
