Honkai Star Rail: Mundane Troubles Mission Walkthrough
In the Mundane Troubles mission of Honkai Star Rail, players will need to engage in a debate with Dr. Ratio as part of an ongoing investigation. It’s a critical part of the Crown of the Mundane and Divine Trailblaze Continuance of Honkai Star Rail. Here’s a guide to help you navigate this intricate mission.
The second mission of the Crown of the Mundane and Divine Trailblaze Continuance of Honkai Star Rail will start with you traveling to the Master Control Zone. As you embark on the journey, your initial task is to inform Asta about Ruan Mei’s departure. However, the objective soon changes due to another situation coming up. A new message from the Herta Surveillance Team group chat will inform you about an attack on Herta by unknown perpetrators.
As you teleport to Herta’s Office, the screen goes dark and you wake up in a room with Asta, Screwllum, and a new character. The new character introduces himself as Dr. Ratio, a delegate from the IPC who is here to investigate the attack on Herta. Dr. Ratio will start interrogating you about what you were doing the last time you saw Herta’s puppet, sending you on a memory backtrack where you’ll need to recall memories using Memory Bubbles.
- Recall the conversation with Asta.
- Interact with Hinkel and get a Cognition Chasm: Confidence Crisis.
- Recall the conversation with Arlan.
- Look for Adler and defeat the enemies attacking him.
- Talk to Adler.
- Come back to the memory with Asta again and give her the Cognition Chasm: Confidence Crisis. She will then give you the Cognition Chasm: Researchers’ Disappearance.
- Use the Memory Bubble again and identify the researcher.
- Go back to the memory with Asta again and talk to Emily. You’ll receive Cognition Chasm: The Xianzhou Alliance.
- Now, come back to the memory with Arlan. Here, give Arlan the Cognition Chasm: Researchers’ Disappearance. Find Adler and give him the Cognition Chasm: The Xianzhou Alliance. In return, you will get the Cognition Chasm: Spontaneous Human Combustion and Cognition Chasm: Energy Lifeform from Arlan and Adler respectively.
- Come back to the memory with Herta again, and give her the Cognition Chasm: Energy Lifeform. It will finally end your recall phase and take you back to the investigation.

After finishing the recall process, Dr. Ratio will continue questioning you. Here, you will need to engage in a debate with him and answer each question correctly to prove him wrong. Here are all the questions he will ask, and your answers to pass the interrogation. Keep in mind that you will need to select pieces of evidence to show to back up your answers.

After presenting all the evidence, the infernal fire will swallow Asta in the middle of the discussion. This will start an Exploratory Excursion called “The Escaped Infernal Fire” where you must select a team with four characters to fight against the enemies. Keep in mind that, among the four characters, you must give one spot to Dr. Ratio as he will be available during this challenge as a trial character.
After completing the challenge, a brief cutscene will be shown, and Dr. Ratio will take his leave from the space station, ending the mission. As a reward for completing the mission, you will receive x120 Stellar Jade, x10 Traveler’s Guide, x8 Refined Aether, x8 Lost Crystal, and x132000 Credits. The Mundane Troubles mission will let you use Dr. Ratio as a trial character; however, after phase 2 of Version 1.6, you can obtain this 5-star character for free.
