Sovereign Syndicate: How to Complete “The Courtesan Killer”
One of the main quests in Sovereign Syndicate has you investigate the frequent murders happening, and we’ll explain how you can complete this quest.
If you don’t know where to look, you may not realize how to find certain clues. Let’s discuss how to complete “The Courtesan Killer” quest.
How to Learn About the Victims
One of the first places I started to pick up information about the victims was in the Velvet Rose, which is inside the Palladium at Beggar’s Lane. You should find Louise Artz sitting at the grand piano. Talk to her about the murders, and you should get information about one of the victims, Hanna Lind.
Another spot you can find out about a victim is right before Clara is about to sing on stage during Chapter Seven. Speak to Arianna Luttrell in the Velvet Rose, standing right beside the stage. Press her for information, and she’ll mention that her friend Gwen Saini went missing for some time.
Not too long after, Beatrix becomes one of the victims, and you can scour her room for clues. This all comes down to succeeding in certain skill checks. I even found a pocket watch that you can take to the Curiosity Shop to get checked out.
How to Confront the Killer
Otherwise, the most potent information about the Courtesan Killer is when you eventually meet up with Atticus at Braxton Manor. If you make a successful check to try and discern the smell Atticus is describing from the crime scene, you’ll connect the smell to Madam Zora.
Head inside the manor and ask Lady Braxton about Zora’s whereabouts. She tells you that Zora is out in the back gardens. Walk through the door just north of you to the back gardens and confront Zora. I had the guts to say that she was my primary suspect. Lo and behold, after I followed her, I figured out that she truly was the killer.
There are a few different choices you can make during this sequence, but I was able to have Ivanna (turned werewolf) not attack me, and she instead threw Zora around until she fell unconscious. Yves Chalamet-Duval, the centaur working on the case with you, shows up and you finally complete the quest!
Since this is a game with different choices and paths, you may have found different ways of figuring out the killer. This is just how I was able to piece things together. Speaking of quests, have you figured out the “Missing Orphans” quest yet? We have a guide on that to help you out!
