With the introduction of the Zero Build Mode in Fortnite, the game’s mobility items have become even more significant. The removal of building mechanics has shifted the focus to jumping and evading enemy fire with movement items. Many classic items, such as the Shockwave Grenade and the ODM Gear from the Attack on Titan crossover, have played a major role in this new mode.

Crash Pad Jr.

One of the items that has become more relevant in the Zero Build Mode is the Crash Pad Jr. Initially, the community had a negative reaction to this item due to a bug that prevented it from working as intended. However, Epic Games has since reintroduced it with the new season, Underground.

Lock-On Pistol

The Lock-On Pistol has also stirred up some controversy in this season. While some players find it to be a fun addition, others feel that it has made the Zero Build mode worse by essentially becoming a legal aimbot. Its slow charge speed, however, still gives players a chance to fight back.

Grapple Blade

The Grapple Blade is a new mobility option introduced in this season, which has proven to be a powerful tool for engagement and disengagement in various situations.

Ballistic Shield

Another powerful defensive tool introduced in this season is the Ballistic Shield, which provides players with total immunity to damage at the front and also comes with a pistol to shoot back at enemies.

New Powerful Mechanic in Chapter 5

Chapter 5 has brought about the weapon modding system, allowing players to add attachments to their weapons to customize and upgrade them. This new addition has certainly changed up the playing field in Fortnite by adding weapon customization, wall climbing, hurdling, and medallions.

Sights

  • Red Eye Sight: Adds 1.15x magnification
  • Holo-13 Optic: Adds 1.3x magnification
  • P2X Optic: Adds 2x magnification
  • Sniper Optic: Adds 4x magnification

Magazines

  • Drum Magazine: Increases ammo capacity with a slight reload speed decrease
  • Speed Magazine: Increases reload speed

Underbarrel

  • Angled Foregrip: Decreases ADS time
  • Vertical Foregrip: Decreases ADS recoil and spread
  • Laser: Improves hip-fire accuracy

Barrels

  • Muzzle Brake: Reduces recoil
  • Suppressor: Removes muzzle flash and dampens audio

These attachments are only available to certain weapons in Chapter 5, and they have brought a new layer of complexity and strategy to the game.
