Palworld Surpasses Fortnite in Daily Active Users on Xbox Series X|S
Palworld continues to put up astonishing numbers. According to Circana (formerly NPD), on January 22, Palwold exceeded Fortnite in the US in terms of daily active users on Xbox Series X|S.
For January 22, Palworld users in the US spent an average of 200+ minutes playing the “Pokemon with guns” game. Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, who has observed video game market trends for decades, said these are “bonkers numbers.”
According to Circana’s Player Engagement Tracker, on January 22nd Palworld surpassed Fortnite in US XBS DAU. On that day alone, Palworld players on XBS in the US played Palworld for more than 200 minutes, on average. Bonkers numbers.

Palworld released on January 19 on Xbox and is available for direct purchase for $30 or via an Xbox Game Pass subscription. The Xbox version of Palworld is a different version than on PC, and many are saying it is inferior for a number of reasons. In any event, Palworld on Xbox has been extremely popular, enough to temporarily unseat Fortnite, and that’s an impressive achievement.
According to developer Pocketpair, Palworld has sold 7 million copies in five days on PC alone. There is no word yet on Xbox sales, or how the game is performing on Xbox Game Pass beyond the daily active user milestone that Piscatella revealed.
Looking ahead, the Palworld content roadmap includes the introduction of PvP and Pal-trading, among other new features and functionality.
