Update Sparks Rumors of News on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
Speculation has been ignited by a recent update to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, hinting that long-awaited news about the game may be on the horizon. The update originates from PSNProfiles, a site that scans the PSN backend for trophy information. The trophy list for the remake has resurfaced, three years after its initial appearance.
Delays and Uncertainty Surrounding the Release
The Sands of Time Remake was first announced in September 2020, with an initial release date of January 2021. However, the game has faced multiple delays and eventually went on an indefinite hiatus. When the trophy list first appeared online in March 2021, fans were left disappointed after the delay was announced.
Following a period of turmoil at Ubisoft, rumors began circulating that the Sands of Time Remake had been mishandled and possibly canceled. However, in November 2022, Ubisoft refuted these rumors and assured fans that the game was still in development at its Montreal office.
Regarding the release date, Ubisoft stated, “At the moment, a new release date has not been set, we will provide new information on that front when we are ready. Since the game currently does not have a release date, existing pre-orders have been cancelled and refunded where applicable.”
