Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has sold so many copies that players are being given celebratory shirts in-game

One week after its release, it has been confirmed that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the series’ fastest-selling game, with one million copies sold in the first seven days. Additionally, players are being compensated with free in-game items as a token of gratitude for their support.

This achievement is particularly noteworthy considering the series has been active since 2005 and has released 23 titles, including main series and spinoffs. According to SteamDB figures, Infinite Wealth has also set a new record for developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio with the highest-ever peak concurrent player count on Steam, reaching 46,161 concurrent players just a couple of days after its release. For comparison, the studio’s second-highest concurrent player count on Steam was for 2023’s Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which reached 13,737 three days after its release. It’s important to note that these figures do not include console players.

With these achievements and Infinite Wealth’s positive critical reception, it’s evident that the latest role-playing game from the studio has been tremendously successful. In a post on Twitter / X on February 2, Ryu Ga Gotoku announced that players will receive a ‘Celebratory T-Shirt Set’ as a token of appreciation. So far, four t-shirt designs have been revealed, with a hint of more to come. However, there is no clarity yet on the exact number of additional designs that will be available.

No specific distribution date has been announced for the t-shirt set. The developer has stated, “We’ll share timing and other details as soon as we can.”

In his review, TechRadar Gaming’s hardware editor Rhys Wood awarded Infinite Wealth five stars out of five, praising the game’s compelling storyline and engaging side content. He noted, “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth represents a culmination of the franchise so far, delivering a riveting tale that is both humorous and heart-wrenching.”
