Minecraft Update for Nintendo Switch

Mojang has released a new update for Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch. This update, labeled Version 1.20.61, brings various changes, fixes, and some experimental features to the game.

Full Details of the Update

Vanilla Parity

  • Nether Gold Ore now drops up to 6 Gold Nuggets when mined with an unenchanted tool, or up to 24 with Fortune Level 3
  • Lapis Lazuli Ore now drops up to 9 Lapis Lazuli when mined with an unenchanted tool, or up to 36 with Fortune Level 3
  • Campfire will now drop 2 Charcoal instead of 4 when destroyed by the player
  • Several other smaller changes and fixes

Experimental Features

Breeze

  • The Breeze is a new hostile mob that can spawn in Trial Chambers
  • It moves by leaping around a target and shoots volatile wind energy at its target
  • Wind charges produced by the Breeze will knock back entities in the area
  • It has various effects on different blocks and items
  • This mob is designed to add a greater level of challenge to the game

Trial Spawner

  • A new variant of Monster Spawners that ejects rewards upon completion
  • Has variable levels of challenge in multiplayer
  • Will spawn a limited number of mobs depending on its challenge level
  • Only found naturally placed in Trial Chambers

  • Trial Chambers have been added as a new structure in the Overworld
  • Armadillos, Wolf Armor, and fixes and changes to performance and stability
