Destiny 2 – How to Get Contraverse Hold

Contraverse Hold is an essential Exotic for any Warlock main. It is widely used in end-game PvE content and offers great potential for other game modes.

Below, we discuss the various methods for obtaining Contraverse Hold and why it’s a must-have item.

How to Get Contraverse Hold in Destiny 2

Contraverse Hold is an Exotic Gauntlet exclusive to the Warlock class. It was initially a game-changing Exotic upon its release and continues to be popular in both PvE and PvP activities today.

While it can be obtained randomly from any Exotic Engram, this is not the most efficient method for obtaining Contraverse Hold.

The optimal way to acquire Contraverse Hold is by completing Solo Legendary Lost Sectors. The chances of it dropping at the end of each Lost Sector completion are high.

Before you begin your hunt, ensure that it is Gauntlet Day. A quick check of your Map will reveal the type of Exotic armor pieces that are dropping from the Lost Sector that day.

If you are new to Legendary Lost Sectors and need assistance preparing for your first run, refer to our guide on How to Do Legendary Lost Sectors. Bear in mind that a Power Level of at least 1750 is required to unlock Legendary Lost Sectors.

However, 1800 is a more manageable Power Level for completing Legendary difficulty Lost Sectors. This level will significantly ease your ability to complete the activity.

Remember that you must complete these Lost Sectors solo. No other fireteam members can be present during the activity, as this will invalidate an Exotic drop at the end of the run.

Your efforts should yield results after a few runs. Now, let’s explore the effectiveness of Contraverse Hold.

Contraverse Hold’s Intrinsic Perk, Chaotic Exchanger, boosts your damage resistance when charging Void grenades. It also provides some grenade ability energy upon successfully hitting a charged grenade.

This Exotic offers significant damage resistance, ensuring your survival during intense battles. The granted grenade energy will refill a large portion of your grenade when used on groups of enemies, especially when combined with energy regeneration Mods.

Many Guardians design builds around using Contraverse Hold to absorb incoming damage while charging their grenades. This damage resistance is applicable when charging any damaging grenade or consuming a grenade for Devour.

For an optimal pairing, use the Vortex Grenade ability, as it can replenish your grenade ability energy during the initial impact and the final tick of damage, usually restoring your entire grenade ability.

Additionally, there are excellent Fragment choices for this grenade build. Echo of Undermining weakens enemies pulled into your grenades, while Echo of Remnants and Echo of Persistence increase your grenade and debuff durations.

Originally a dominant Exotic in PvP, Contraverse Hold has transitioned into an outstanding end-game PvE Exotic due to its survivability and constant ability regeneration effects.

This build is widely utilized by Warlocks today and is worth trying if you frequently play as a Void Warlock.

You are now equipped to earn Contraverse Hold yourself. Good luck with your Lost Sector runs!
