Bravely Default II recently marked its three-year milestone since its release on the Switch on 26th February, 2021. To commemorate this occasion, producer Tomoya Asano shared a special message on X (formerly known as Twitter) and hinted at a potential announcement later this year.

As noted by X user Stealth (via VGC), the message hinted at upcoming developments in the Bravely series: “I’m sure we’ll be able to tell you about some developments in the Bravely series this year, so please stay tuned (roughly translated via Google)”. Accompanying the post was a special artwork piece by illustrator Rina Yoshiura.

The Bravely franchise has seen three mainline titles so far, starting with Bravely Default on the 3DS in 2012, followed by Bravely Second: End Layer in 2015 and Bravely Default II in 2021.
