We are excited to announce a new Xbox Update Preview that is being released to the Omega ring today. It is essential to highlight that these preview OS builds contain updates that focus on improving the background performance of Xbox consoles, ensuring a stable and high-quality build. Even if the changes to the user interface are minor or hidden, we will continue to provide release notes to keep you informed about upcoming updates for your device.

System Update Details

  • OS Version: XB_FLT_2403ZN25398.3821.240221-2200
  • Available: 4 p.m. PT – February 27, 2024
  • Mandatory: 4 p.m. PT – February 28, 2024

Note: Updates may not occur automatically before they become mandatory. To ensure you have the latest update, navigate to Guide > Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.

Remember: While new users in this ring may not receive all early updates, they will get the update before the GA release. Some users may remain on the current GA build until the next mandatory system update for the public. For more information, visit the Xbox Insider Program FAQ.

New Features and Experiences

We have exciting news for Omega users – there is something new coming to the Xbox Update Preview.

Installation (Xbox Series X|S)

We have implemented additional network optimizations to enhance content downloads while games are running.

Fixes Included

With invaluable feedback from Xbox Insiders and the dedicated work of Xbox engineers, the following fixes have been implemented with this build:

Accessibility

  • Improvements to narrator readout in the profile section of the guide.

Installation

  • Addressed an unexpected error some users encountered when updating Minecraft (0x87e00021).

System

  • Various stability and performance fixes.
  • Updates to accurately reflect local languages across the console.

Known Issues

Although known issues may have been previously listed in Xbox Insider Release Notes, rest assured that they are being actively addressed. If you encounter any of these issues, please follow the provided guidance and submit feedback through Report a Problem.

Audio

  • Some users have reported intermittent audio issues across the dashboard, games, and apps.

Networking

  • We are investigating reports of a network connection issue upon booting the console.
