Hey Xbox Insiders! New Xbox Update Preview for Beta Ring
It’s crucial to highlight that certain updates included in these preview OS builds focus on background improvements to ensure a stable and high-quality build for Xbox consoles. We will continue to provide these release notes, even if the visible changes to the UI are minimal or behind the scenes, so you are informed of upcoming updates for your device.

- Available: 2 p.m. PT – March 4, 2024

Fixes Included
Thanks to the valuable feedback provided by Xbox Insiders and the diligent work of Xbox engineers, we are excited to announce the implementation of the following fixes with this build:
Accessibility
- Fixes to enhance narrator readout in the guide when interacting with friends and making friendship changes.
Capture & Share
- Fixes to address an unexpected error in the guide when viewing recent captures.
System
- Various updates to accurately reflect local languages across the console.
Known Issues
Even though known issues may have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes, rest assured they are not being overlooked! Please be patient as Xbox engineers work on finding solutions. If you encounter any of these issues, we kindly ask you to follow the provided guidance and submit feedback through Report a Problem.
Audio
- Some users have reported intermittent audio issues throughout the dashboard, games, and apps.
- Troubleshooting: In case of issues, ensure your TV and all equipment have the latest firmware installed. If unsure, contact the manufacturer for assistance. For additional troubleshooting tips, refer to: Troubleshoot audio on your Xbox console.
- Feedback: If problems persist after updating firmware and further troubleshooting, please provide feedback through Report a Problem when experiencing the issue. Choose the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues.”
- Note: Include detailed information about the issue, onset, setup, completed troubleshooting, and any other data that can help in reproducing the issue.
Networking
- We are investigating reports of a potential issue where the console may not connect to the network immediately upon boot. If you encounter this, report the issue through Report a Problem as soon as possible.
- Workaround: Allow a minute or two for the connection to establish. If the console still doesn’t connect, restart it from the Power Center or guide, then report the issue through Report a Problem. Learn more about restarting here: How to restart or power cycle your Xbox console.
