Raft – How to Use Beehive

Understanding Beehives in Raft

Beehives play a crucial role in providing Honeycomb, a valuable resource in Raft used for crafting Honey and healing salves. Whether you come across natural beehives on islands or decide to craft your own, understanding how they work is essential for maximizing your production.

How to Utilize Beehives in Raft

After acquiring Bees from Balboa Island, you can start crafting and placing Beehives on your raft. Each Beehive requires specific resources such as Planks, Plastics, Clays, Hinges, and Bee Jars, which can be found in the Other tab. Make sure to research the ingredients in the Research Table if you don’t see the recipe initially.

To ensure optimal production from your Beehives, it’s important to plant at least 3 flowers in the vicinity of each hive. The more flowers you plant, the more Honeycombs you can harvest, with a maximum of 3 Honeycombs achievable when 12 or more flowers are present.

Tips for Setting Up Your Beehives

To effectively use Beehives on your raft, consider creating Crop Plots to plant Flower Seeds near each hive. Opt for Small Crop Plots over medium ones, as they can hold more flowers and take up less space. This efficient layout allows you to produce Honeycombs consistently as long as the flowers are watered.

Strategically placing Beehives and Crop Plots can significantly impact your production. Aim to surround a central foundation with 12 flowers and as many Beehives as possible. Additionally, utilizing wall and ceiling space for hanging Crop Plots can optimize your Honeycomb farming.

Creating a structured Beehive farm might require initial effort, but once established, the process of harvesting Honeycombs every 8 minutes becomes more manageable. Don’t forget to protect your flowers from Seagulls by building a Scarecrow or enclosing the Beehive farm in a closed room.
