Understanding the Gold Contender’s Boon in Destiny 2
Destiny 2 has once again introduced the Guardian Games along with the new buffs and boons that come with them. However, the Gold Contender’s Boon has left many players confused as it is not clearly explained. Let’s take a closer look at what it does and why it exists.
What is the Gold Contender’s Boon?
As you climb the ranks in Guardian Games, Destiny 2 provides a helping hand in the form of the Contender’s Boon. This boon evolves with each rank, starting from bronze and progressing to gold. These buffs are designed to assist you in achieving a higher score in both Training and Competitive modes.
The Gold Contender’s Boon enhances weapon damage and significantly speeds up ability recharge rates when dealing damage to enemies with weapons. This boon turns you into a powerhouse in Destiny 2, helping you earn medals for your selected class.
While active, the Boon allows you to move more effortlessly through enemies. However, it is not usable in PvP for fair gameplay. This ability is exclusive to Strikes and Nightfall playlists. With increased damage and ability recharge rates, progressing through the rankings and completing Guardian Games events becomes more manageable, allowing you to earn medals and rewards faster.
How to Acquire the Gold Contender’s Boon
This buff is only accessible during the Guardian Games event in Destiny 2. It resets weekly and expires once you reach Platinum rank. There is no Platinum Contender’s Boon as this buff is aimed at helping Guardians swiftly reach the top tier. Once you reach the pinnacle in Destiny 2, the Contender’s Boon becomes unnecessary as you are already at the peak of your performance.
As you advance through the tiers in Guardian Games, you will observe your boon transitioning from bronze to silver and ultimately to gold. Make the most of this boon while it lasts, as it is only available for a limited time.
