Persona 3 Reload dev is ‘grateful’ that fans pushed for the release of the Episode Aegis expansion

Atlus Announces Development of Persona 3 Reload’s Episode Aegis Expansion

Atlus has recently made a surprising announcement regarding the development of the Persona 3 Reload‘s Episode Aegis expansion. During the Xbox Partner Preview event last week, it was revealed that the popular JRPG will be receiving an expansion pass this year, which will include additional music from Persona 4 and Persona 5, new costumes, and the much-anticipated Episode Aegis – The Answer DLC.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Persona series general producer Kazuhisa Wada shed some light on the decision-making process behind creating Episode Aegis. Despite initial statements from Atlus that no additional story content would be released for Persona 3 Reload, Wada explained that the team felt it was essential to include the concluding arc from the original Persona 3 if they were going to remake the game.

Wada shared that while there were difficulties initially that prevented the team from working on Episode Aegis, the overwhelming feedback from fans after the release of Persona 3 Reload played a significant role in making the expansion a reality. This support gave the team the motivation to overcome internal obstacles and bring Episode Aegis to life.

Episode Aegis serves as an epilogue that was first introduced in Persona 3 FES, an extended version of the original game that added approximately 30 hours of extra story content. The full expansion pass for Persona 3 Reload will be priced at $34.99 (£28.99) and will be released in waves, with the Persona 5 Royal and Persona 4 Golden BGM collection coming first this month, followed by Velvet Costume and BGM in May, and finally Episode Aigis – The Answer in September.
