A Teen Titans live-action movie is coming to James Gunn’s new DCU

Exciting News for DC Universe Fans

James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe is already making waves with new announcements, despite not having released a film yet. The latest addition to the superhero lineup is a live-action movie featuring the Teen Titans, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Ana Nogueira Takes on Screenwriting Duties

The Vampire Diaries and Hightown actress Ana Nogueira has been tapped to write the script for the Teen Titans movie. Nogueira is no stranger to the superhero genre, as she is also working on the script for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, starring Milly Alcock. This marks Nogueira’s first major screenwriting credit, having previously found success as a playwright with her play Which Way to the Stage debuting off-Broadway in 2022.

The Teen Titans Lineup

The specific lineup for the Teen Titans movie has not been revealed yet. However, fans are hoping to see classic characters like Beast Boy, Cyborg, Robin, Raven, and Starfire in action. These characters have gained popularity through animated series like Teen Titans and Teen Titans GO!.

Aside from the Teen Titans, the DC Universe is also set to introduce familiar faces like Superman and Batman, along with more obscure characters like Swamp Thing and The Authority. The official launch of the DCU is scheduled for 2025 with James Gunn’s Superman movie, followed by The Brave and The Bold, focusing on the Batfamily.

Release Date Speculation

While no release date has been announced for the Teen Titans movie, it is expected to be a few years before fans can see their favorite heroes on the big screen.
