Rise of the Ronin
Team Ninja’s PlayStation-exclusive action RPG Rise of the Ronin is set to release in a week, and Sony has unveiled a stunning cinematic trailer to mark the occasion. The trailer seamlessly blends live-action sequences with in-game visuals, focusing on the deep bond between the protagonist and their lost Blade Twin.
Immersed in 19th century Japan, Rise of the Ronin puts players in control of a customizable warrior-for-hire known as the Veiled Edge. The game transports players to a time when Japan’s isolation was threatened by the arrival of Western Black Ships, offering interactions with historical figures while crafting their own journey in the open-world narrative.
Game Features
Players will have the opportunity to personalize two characters in the game: the Veiled Edge and their Blade Twin. Raised and trained together, these siblings share a unique bond, as showcased in the trailer, featuring their evolution from childhood innocence to a mature ronin stand-off.
Rise of the Ronin brings a fresh gaming experience from Team Ninja, merging the combat mechanics of previous titles like Wo Long and Nioh with a flexible, open-world design. The game’s promotional material emphasizes the freedom it offers, promising a narrative that adapts to player choices as they carve out their path as a ronin.
Rise of the Ronin will be available on PS5 starting March 22. For a detailed preview of the game, you can visit GameSpot’s coverage of Rise of the Ronin.
