Each Vocation offers a unique playstyle, from close-ranged melee combat to powerful offensive spells. Understanding how to unlock and maximize the potential of each Vocation is essential for mastering the game.
Basic Vocation Ultimate Skill Requirements
The Basic Vocations like Fighter, Archer, Thief, and Mage come with default abilities but also have Ultimate Skills that can be unlocked by completing specific tasks. Here’s a guide to help you obtain these Ultimate Skills for each Basic Vocation.
Fighter
To unlock Riotous Fury, the Fighter’s Ultimate Skill, you must complete the Readvent of Calamity quest given by Maister Lennart in Melve. Ensure you finish this quest within the time limit to receive the skill scroll.
Archer
For the Heavenly Shot Ultimate Skill, speak to Taliesin in Sacred Arbor after completing the “Gift of the Bow” quest. Help him save his daughter from Ogres to receive the skill scroll.
Thief
Visit Flaude and Srail in the Nameless Village to obtain the Blades of the Pyre and Formless Feint skill scrolls. Simply speak to them in their locations to receive these Ultimate Skills.
Mage
Unlock the powerful Celestial Paean Ultimate Skill by completing Eini’s quest “Spellbound” north of Melve. Provide her granddaughter Trysha with 5 grimoires to receive this skill scroll.
Advanced Vocation Unlock Guide
Warrior and Sorceror
To access the Warrior and Sorceror classes, undertake the “Vocation Frustration” quest at any Vocation Guild NPC. Retrieve a greatsword and archistaff weapon and return to the guild to unlock these advanced vocations.
For the Ultimate Skills of these classes, complete quests for Beren and Myrddin to obtain the Arc of Might and Meteoron/Maelstrom skills, respectively.
Mystic Spearhand
Speak to Sigurd in Melve or Dragonsbreath Tower after the Readvent of Calamity quest to unlock the Mystic Spearhand Vocation. Return to his home in Harve Village to gain the Wild Furie Ultimate Skill.
Magick Archer
Unlock the Magick Archer Vocation at the Windwalker’s Home on Agamen Volcanic Island by assisting Gautstafr and Cliondhna. Speak to Cliondhna after the task to obtain the Martyr’s Bolt Ultimate Skill.
Trickster
Find Luz in the Reverent Shrine to unlock the Trickster Vocation, and seek her physical form for the Dragon’s Delusion Ultimate Skill.
Wayfarer
Acquire the Wayfarer Vocation from Lamond at Volcanic Island Camp Hot Springs by providing him with three bottles of Newt Liqueur. Receive the Rearmament Ultimate Skill as a bonus for unlocking this versatile class.
