Helldivers 2 Dominates Revenue Charts

Recent market analysis reveals that Helldivers 2 snagged the top spot as the highest-grossing game in February. According to the data from Newzoo, this action-packed game was not only the chart-topper in the US and Italy but also second in revenue generation across the UK, Spain, France, and Germany, just behind EA Sports FC 24. Despite this, globally Helldivers 2 managed to clinch the title of the highest-grossing game overall, with the US and UK being the major contributors to its revenue stream.

The report by Newzoo also delves into the player base of Helldivers 2, highlighting its position as the 15th most-played game on PC and PlayStation by monthly active users in February. When it comes to shooters, the game ranked third on PlayStation and sixth on PC. It is noted that approximately 4.8% of gamers on PC and PlayStation engaged with Helldivers 2 during February, spending an average of 20 hours playing the game.

Moreover, Newzoo’s report highlights the influx of new players to Helldivers 2 from various other games. A significant 35.5% of players who ceased playing Fortnite transitioned to Helldivers 2, showing a strong appeal among former Fortnite enthusiasts. This trend was also seen with players from Palworld, Lethal Company, The Finals, and the Call of Duty series (Modern Warfare II, III, and Warzone). In fact, Call of Duty, Lethal Company, and Fortnite had the highest player overlap with Helldivers 2, cementing its popularity among diverse gaming communities.
